A Human Bird Nest Experience

This eye-catcher looks awesome and comes pretty handy
when you are out of firewood... I'm just sayin' ;)

Crossed stick chair was progressed in order to express the series
of these processes to a work. At the beginning, I had attached the sticks
with various sizes one by one without knowing  what I have to make.
I drew a chair when a size was made to some extent and I had attached
sticks in order to make the shape that I want.

The Sealpelt aka Selshamurinn

I don't know why but after reading this myth below I want one of those seapelts from Vikprjonsdottir.
Seriously think about it: build a Lego city and put on that Sealpelt and then go nuts...
RAWRRR, S-S-Seapeltzilla... Awhhhh  pew pew!
Or imagine how fun it would be to chill on a cold night on the balcony wearing
nothing but the Sealpelt... oh it's okay you silly prudes my neighbours are allready
used to my weird way of thinking... jeez ;)

In the Icelandic myths, seals are believed to be condemned by humans.
One ancient story from the south of Iceland is about a farmet who early
one morning finds a sealpelt lying on the beach. In a cave nearby,
he hears vioces and music. He takes the sealpelt home and hides it in a woodenchest.
Few days later he returns to the beach and finds a crying, naked,
young woman sitting on a rock. He brings her to his house where she stays,
but he never tells her about the pelt. As time goes by they get married and have children.
But the young woman is restless and often stares quietly out of the window at the ocean.
One day when the farmer goes fishing, his wife accidentally finds the key of the chest,
opens it and discovers the missing pelt. She takes leave of her children,
puts the pelt on and before she dives into the ocean she says: “ I am vary anxious,
with seven children on land an seven in the sea.” She never comes back
but the farmer misses her terribly. Later when he goes fishing there often is a
seal near his boat and its eyes are filled with tears. It is said that the farmer
becomes a very  lucky fisherman. And when his children play at the beach
there often is a seal swimming close to land. Sometimes it brings them beautiful
stones and colorful fishes. But their mother never returned - Vík Prjónsdóttir

What Would You Do With Your Old Skateboard?

This looks colorfully nice!
Artist Haroshi made this nice looking sculptures from old skateboards.
Well I turned my old skateboard into a bottom plate for my balcony plants, I'm just sayin... ;)
Go the the flickr site to see more sculptures or check out the "In progress" clip below.

Skate decks eventually see its life shortened by snapping, cracking and/or wearing out.
Purchasing new decks is a never ending cycle and this was evident by the tower of old
decks that were reaching to the ceiling of my room. We can’t throw away these decks
because they hold sentimental meanings to us. I looked at these unusable decks every day
and thought there must be something I can make with these.
I decided to make some accessories with the old decks
and this was the birth of Harvest - Haroshi

Behold The Loudspeaker Cuckoo Clock

This kinda feels surreal :)
Away with the lame old Cuckcoo Clock and install this beauty.

When the bass is loud, the largest speaker on the bottom is released on a hinge-mechanism
and catapulted into the room, retreating back to the cabinet when the sound softens - makezine

It’s all about The Miniature Angle

The Miniature World of Matthew Albanese is just awesome!
All I can say is: they looks so freaking real!
Scroll down for the work in progress or visit the Portofolio from Matt.

My work involves the construction of small-scale meticulously detailed models
using various materials and objects to create emotive landscapes.
Every aspect from the construction to the lighting of the final model is painstakingly
pre-planned using methods which force the viewers perspective when photographed
from a specific angle. Using a mixture of photographic techniques such as scale,
depth of field, white balance and lighting I am able to drastically
alter the appearance of my materials - Matthew Albanese

Jacket & Bookmark

I luv this idea!
And yet I'm here with my boring bookmark, a riven piece of an old phone bill. Which I probably paid...
Anyhow, time to be creative like Icoeye.

Logotypes, icons and illustrations are a mix of graphics and sense. One is inseparable from the other.
Graphics express the sense, sense controls the graphics. That is why I pay special attention to both aspects.
I create refined clever graphics. I see the sense by heart and appreciate the result by a sensitive eye - icoeye
